Eastern Edge, the first sea kayak adventure company in the Province, pioneered the sport starting almost 24 years ago. Since then a lot has changed! Back then if I saw a boat on someone’s car, I probably sold it to them. Now there are hundreds, maybe thousands of boats on all kinds of racks and vehicles skittering about heading for who knows where. Things have changed, but our aim is still the same, to guide fun filled trips with safety, comfort and the enjoyment of our guests the prime concern!

Eastern Edge offers full supported multi day tours to the South Coast, guiding services for those who want to plan and provide for their own trip and instruction for any level of Paddle Canada courses. We now work on a “demand” basis. That is, if you get a group of four or more people wanting to do a course or tour, contact us and we will do our best to set up a date that suits your needs.

Have Paddle, Will Travel – If you need an instructor to put off a course that you want to run…contact us. Besides Jim Price, the owner operator and chief instructor, we have access to many other Paddle Canada instructors that can help you put off your course.

Why use guides?
Newfoundland is a sea kayakers paradise, but not for those who are not prepared! The ocean is always cold; the weather uncertain and landing spots may be non existent for miles! However there is no place on earth with so many whales, icebergs, sea birds and seals combined with the hospitality, warmth and humor of the Newfoundland people!
