Jim Price has been owner and operator of Eastern Edge Outfitters
Limited for the past 23 years. He has retired from his day job with the
Newfoundland Government where he worked as a Forester and Resource Planner
for 30 years. This gives him more time to teach Sea and Whitewater kayak
courses, guide trips and help develop the sport of kayaking in the Provence.
He holds a Senior Sea Kayak Instructor Trainer, Whitewater Kayaking
Instructor Level 2 and past Senior Instructor Trainer in Whitewater Canoeing
certification from Paddle Canada. He also has received Level 2 Kayak
Instructors Certificate from the Alberta Whitewater Association, Four Star
Sea Kayak certification from the British Canoe Union and a Senior Swiftwater
Rescue Technician certification from Rescue 3 Northeast.. He has canoed or
kayaked most of the major rivers in the province and has paddled much of the
coast of Newfoundland and Labrador as well as running numerous rivers in the
US, Mexico and Costa Rica including kayaking and rafting the Colorado River
through the Grand Canyon. His latest hobby is Paragliding!
